Had great service when I went a few weeks ago.
Best cheese fries in town for sure!
Sub selection like no other. Plenty of beer choices and fast service. Clean and friendly place, busy with people so you know it’s good.
Although the food and atmosphere is great, every single time I've been (around 6 times) our party has waited no less than 45 minutes for our food to come out. 5 out of 6 times someones order has come out wrong and then waited an additional 10-15 minutes for the re-order to come out. This place could be 5 stars if it wasn't such a long wait time for food and there weren't mess ups with the order. The fries are amazing too!
Fast service and very nice help. Great sandwiches
I wasn't pleased with the food this visit BUT the hospitality was amazing that makes a difference I'll be back
I heard an ad on the radio and decided to give this place a try... The service was good, the ambiance was nice, the beer was cold, and the food was excellent. I was very impressed by this place, I will definitely go back again. I enjoyed a delicious bowl of French onion soup followed by a tasty Ruben hoagie with a side of cheese fries, washed it all down with some cold beers.
Service is terrible, kitchen is slow, staff doesn't care about customers. Staff doesn't acknowledge customers when they walk in until several minutes later. When I'm told that my food will be ready at 1230 and I'm still standing there at 1250 there's a problem. People have things to do that's why they called in their order and this is only one of many poor instances I've experienced at this place. It's unfortunate because their food is good but their employment choices are going to be the reason they fail.
Very nice cozy restaurant. Friendly environment. awesome food and beer
Their food was decent but they serve it to you in paper in the plastic baskets like Baskin-Robbins I think so when you drop your food which you will into the basket the paper coats the wet food (meat\sauerkraut) in paper gross but there beer they were serving was amazing
So slow I called in amd they said 30 min so came at that time and had ti wait im my car another 30 minutes with a hungry kid
Good selection in beer and the Po Boy hoagie was delicious
Great food friendly staff. The cheese fries are delicious!
I recently placed a pick up order. When I got home I discovered that the lid to the French onion soup had not been fastened securely and had spilled all over my hogies and fries. On top of that, I asked for a drink holder or bag to carry the drinks with and the waitress was extremely rude. The other waitress was polite, but because of the service I won't be returning anytime soon.
Food is great. Servers are fast and friendly. Plus Hoodoo brewing is always nice. Po boy is my go to and the cheese fries are the best in town.
Call in two sands, 34 dollars, told twenty five minutes, show up thirty. Told one was done, thirty minutes later the other was done, thin watery cheese sauce, tiny sands, simply awful.
In from Ohio for work in fairbanks and found this gem.
Some decent late food! Pleasantly surprised.
I just like the food here so much. The place is loud at times but that’s when I order to go. Probably one of best places to eat in Fairbanks.
Good food. Portions are about h as of what they were 2 years ago but I keep going back. The waitress was awesome!
Good subs! The Ruben is amazing
Great food and good prices, along with friendly staff
Both the Tucks roll and the Reuben roll were great, we enjoyed the fries too. Well decorated interior and good music selection. Would definitely return.
The cobb salad is great!
One of the best chicken/mushroom/cheese sandwiches I've had I'm still thinking about it
Consistently the best cheese steaks in town. HooDoo cheese sauce is incredible and addicting. Really good, fresh salads. A bit pricey, but to be expected when the food is that good.
Nice little place to grab a cheesesteak. Always great service and best place in town to watch Monday night football
Hoodoo cheese fries are one of my favorite snacks! So delicious! I eat there often! I love their beef babes roll. Customer service is always great and I like the vibe they have. Only pitfalls I can think of is sometimes their hoagies are just a little too chewy for my liking, and a couple times on to go orders they said my food would be ready in 20 minutes, but it took over 30 minutes. All in all a great place to eat, and the food is worth the wait.
Friar Tucks has great sandwiches and good beer. I do not recommend the magnitude. However everything else there is great. It seems pricey, but it is very reasonable for the area.
Good sandwiches, atmosphere, beer, and people. Usually very busy but the foods worth the wait. Prices are also very reasonable
Wonderful place. 5 tvs for sports, great food, and fantastic service
Good food. Definitely can fill up here. Prices are a bit high and seating can be tricky when they're busy...and they're always busy. But worth the wait.
A lot of good sandwiches, some of the best wings in town, and the Hoodoo cheese fries are awesome.
The waitress was very friendly and helpful. The food was great and the fried pickles are the best!
Excellent service and food. Nice selection of local beers.I had the Babe's Roll with Rib eye as my choice of meat. Delicious.
My favorite place to grab a beer and some good food. Try making your sandwich a salad! It's delish and a great way to cut down on all those carbs.
Amazing food! Unique joint with great beers on tap. Get the voodoo fries!
The Italian sub is all I ever get. Don't know why but it is delicious and smokie I guess. Must be that's it.
Amazing food and service, the Tuck Hoagie was THE BEST
The food didn’t taste bad, but it seemed very pricy for what we actually got. $2 for a chicken wing?
Great food, nice atmosphere and cold beer - what's not to like?
I've been to Friar Tucks a whole bunch of times over the course of a few years. There are two things I order pretty consistently when I come here: the po boy and Hoodoo beer cheese fries. Here's the thing: they taste spectacular...consistently. I don't think the taste, portion, or delivery of their menu has changed in a way that I can recognize over the past however-many years. It's pretty nice to know that you can show up somewhere and know that A) Your favorites will be there and B) Your favorites will consistently taste like you're expecting them to.Sometimes you want a restaurant where you're pleased, surprised, and excited to see new menu items. Sometimes you just want a yummy sandwich. Come here if you're after the latter.
Usually really good but waited 1hr 20 minutes for food this time. They weren't even that busy, less than 50% occupied.
Great food. Lots of room. Summer deck area or shaded inside.
We were really impressed with the presentation and taste of the food. Our daughter ate the whole kids meal!
This place is always amazing! The staff are awesome, fast and extremely attentive. They have sports on the tv most of the time and they always have events going on. I go often.
If you ain't drinking alcohol they seem to treat you like a second rate, less important customer. The food was good but four adults eating together and they brought two orders then twenty minutes later the third and five or so minutes after that the fourth persons meal came. Needless to say, the first two person's meal was cold by the time the last plate arrived (are we supposed to NOT EAT TOGETHER???). VERY DISAPPOINTING. I do not recommend this place.
Got the kale strawberry and walnut salad... was a big plate of lettuce (without much kale or anything else) for $16.50. Definitely don't get a salad if you go here !!!
The food is really good, and the service is not bad. I really liked their French dip sandwich and the HooDoo cheese fries.
Great service. Blueberry lemonade was tasty, low acid too. Nice they set up outside when the sun shines.
Decent little place in Fairbanks. Small menu and small beer list, but less is more. The cheese fries were pretty good, not too salty, and the cheese seems like beer cheese, which is a personal plus. I had the Ruben roll, and it wasn't terrible, bit it wasn't stand out. I'm very picky on Rubens, so that could be why I wasn't a huge fan. Service was great, and wait time wasn't long. Next time, I'll try a different hoagie and update based on that trip.Definitely give it a shot. Seems like a pretty popular spot. Try a couple hoagies for yourself and see what works for you!
